We decided to head to the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research today. I saw an article in the Straits Times about it ad thought it might be interesting. It was free admission to all museums in Singapore today, though I suspect this museum doesn’t charge admission.
It was pretty crowded. Heaps of people obviously read the same article as me. It didn’t help that it was a small space. But we managed to have some fun anyway.
We saw giant mudskippers

A Malayan Tiger. I actually imagined them to be much bigger.

A leathery Turtle found off the coast of Singapore. According to the writeup, it’s the only leathery turtle to be found in Singapore.

Didn’t think I’d see a Coelacanth, so that was a nice surprise. I am trying to get fajar to go to sulawesi coz I read somewhere that the diving is amazing. I don’t know why, but whenever I read that a certain place has amazing diving, I instinctively want to go there. I don’t even dive often for crying out loud. Anyway, Sulawesi is one place they have found the Coelacanth.

I can’t remember what animal this is, but I took this image while waiting for the crowd in front of me to move.

All in all it was a pretty decent way to spend a Sunday arvo. Most of the time I just sleep the day away. I’m trying to get us to do stuff we’ve never done or seen or heard before because all week long all we look at are ads. So this is I think a welcome diversion.
Wonder what I should do next week..
